Overview

Helen, the wife of the Secretary of State for Defence, learns that her secret identity as a spy is in danger after her lover is killed by London's underworld. Her employers, the Black Doves, a spies-for-hire organisation – retrieving industrial, political or diplomatic secrets for the highest bidder – send Sam, an old friend, to protect her.

Our team at DUPE VFX was proud to contribute to the visually stunning world of 'Black Doves,' the critically acclaimed Netflix series from Sister Pictures. We delivered a range of VFX, including enhancing fight sequences, explosions and all the screen content. The show was a huge success over Christmas 2024 and was immediately greenlit for season2. Our work, seamlessly integrated into the atmospheric high quality show, helping to bring the show's thrilling narrative to life, immersing viewers in the dark but often comedic world of espionage in Black Doves.

Knowing the fantastic team at Dupe and what they are capable of allowed me to have open, creative communication with the decision makers on and off set, allowing us to find what works best for the shot and for the overall story. I'm exceptionally proud of the end result.

Muzzle flashes & atmos

Working again with Sister Pictures and Harry Munday we joined the show just before the shoot and dupe's on set Supervisor Peter Eszenyi worked closely with the Directors and HODS to get the balance of in-camera stunts and SFX combined with our magic. Highlights of the series were the apartment explosion and the snow sequence.
