It tells the story of the city being torn apart by the turbulent power struggles of the international gangs that control it, and the sudden power vacuum that’s created when the head of London’s most powerful crime family is assassinated. 360 DEGREES OF LONDON
The CG environment team at dupe (Dan Newlands & friends) developed a procedural process to vary and build 8km of London skyline using a bunch of carefully curated assets. From modern buildings and skyscrapers to Victorian warehouses this process kept us close to a London skyline rather than something generic. The sense of the central city area around Liverpool street gave us a soft focal point as we pulled back through the cranes of outer London. We see Sean set the tone for the series as the scene continues to play out showcasing our work from all angles. Our team used over 120+ unique assets to create Gareth's interpretation of London. Reusable procedural skyscrapers that were driven by a simple gradient to decide their stages of completion. Animated cars, buses, taxis and trains. Shader driven building interiors through the windows. Controllable lighting for interiors, street, building, crane lights. We could go on, and probably will do when we meet you...

Working on this show for over a year, the dupe team put a lot of blood (of the VFX kind) sweat and love into this project and we’re extremely proud of all our work from early concepts, 7 months of on-set supervision and the mammoth 800 shots we final’d. We grew to new heights together as a company around this epic project, more office space, more server space, more amazing people and more invaluable experience under our belt. A HUGE thank you to Gareth Evans who had faith in us from the start and all the team involved on the show that helped us deliver our best work to date.
